The Parish of Chelmarsh includes the village of Chelmarsh and the hamlets of Sutton, Hampton, Hampton Loade and Astbury. Bounded by the river Severn with views across to the Clee hills the parish has a lot to offer residents and visitors. Buses (service 125) run regularly to Chelmarsh from Bridgnorth and Kidderminster. Shropshire Council has partnered with Citymapper to provide up to date real time information on travel services.
Chelmarsh Parish Hall is situated at the heart of the village offering a wide range of activities from toddler groups, friendship groups and exercise groups. The hall is also available to hire. Just down the lane from the hall are Chelmarsh Sports and Social club (see their Facebook page for details of events) and Chelmarsh Cricket Club. Weekly Sunday services are held at St Peters Church at 9.30am.
Chelmarsh reservoir is home to Chelmarsh Sailing Club who offer fantastic facilities for sailing and paddleboarding. The reservoir is also a NOWCA approved swimming site (for NOWCA members only).
Hampton Loade is home to one of the Severn Valley Railways beautiful heritage stations. Trains run between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster and there are special events throughout the year. Running alongside the railway and the river is part of the National Cycle Network route 45, also known as the Mercian Way, which runs from Chester to Salisbury.
